Things to Know About the Laguna Creek Gators
and the NorCal Swim League
What is the NorCal Swim League?
The NorCal Swim League is the largest recreational swimming league in the Sacramento area, representing more than 3,700 swimmers. This season, due to expansion, the league consists of 24
teams aligned into five conferences – Comstock, Gold Rush, Eureka, Mother Lode, and Nugget. The conferences are tiered and teams are assigned to a conference based on their past season’s performance, to even out the competition league-wide.
What is the Gold Rush Conference?
For 2009, the Gators enter the season as the top seed in the Gold Rush Conference. This is a new conference for us and we’re joined by Davis, Gold River, and Rocklin and Roseville. Gold Rush is by far the most evenly
matched conference with a very narrow point spread between the top and bottom teams when you load last year’s championship times into the computer to create a mock-championship meet scenario. These five teams have between 140 and 200 swimmers
each so every meet should be highly competitive.
