Coach Malea Glover grew up swimming!   With two older sisters on swim team, she tagged along, looking forward to the day she could do it, too.  She started swimming on the team at five years old.  She tried other sports, like gymnastics, track, softball, and taekwondo, but nothing made her happier than getting in the pool and cranking through the tough workouts.  Her team swam twice a day for two hours at a time.  "Those were the days!"  She has lived in Elk Grove for five years, after moving from San Antonio, Texas, where she lived after relocating from Portland, Oregon.  She is married and a mother of four swimmers.  Coach Malea says, "As a coach I hope that kids always feel the joy in swimming and self achievement that I did.  Also, that they become technically sound in all four strokes and achieve their swimming goals. The willingness to work hard, determination, speed, endurance, and great sportsmanship all attributes that  I hope to support in every swimmer, from 5 to 18 year old."
