1. If your swimmer will not be at a meet, sign them out in the Meet Binder kept with the file folders at practice.
2. Check the meet sheet posted on the Wednesday prior to a meet to find out which events your swimmer will swim.
3. Dress warmly for the mornings and bring several towels, a sleeping bag/blanket, and toys or books to keep swimmers busy between races. Shade is provided for swimmers in the team areas, but parents might want to bring a shade
structure and chairs for the rest of the family.
4. Bring healthy snacks, lunch, and water. An ice chest helps to keep things cool. An other option it to visit the snack bar that is often available at meet locations.
5. Swimmers must check in by 7:00 am so coaches can confirm whether a swimmer will be present for assigned events. Swimmers will be scratched if they do not check in. Parent volunteers working at that day's meet should
also check in at the same location when they arrive.
6. Locate the team area and find age group areas to set up for the day to get settled for the day. Swimmers must stay with the team parents in this area during the meet so they will be easily located for their events.
Team parents will help swimmers get to the redy bench one event prior to the event in which they are swimming. Parents will set up their area at this time, as well!
7. Check meet sheets for updates, which will be posted at a visible location and will also be provided to team parents. Check the event/heat/lane number for all of your swimmer's races so you will be able to ensure that your
swimmer gets to the ready bench on time, and so you will know when to cheer them on!
8. Help your swimmer get to warm-ups on time, which are divided into age groups, and be ready with a dry towel when they are done.
9. The team cheer and pep talk are an energetic and positive start to the meet. Be there to support the swimmers and their coaches!
